Ngutu College
Ngutu College’s Woodville North address provided excellent open space play areas for the children, but the segregated and exhausted interior required extensive work. The existing building had masonry partitions, and beneath the decades of ad-hoc maintenance and additions was an established mid-20th century design.
These traditional elements of design were left to enhance the buildings earned characteristics, which will provide the students more of a ‘second home’ rather than an institutionalised education building. Original jarrah floorboards were exposed and polished to provide a dancefloor for the students and ornate staircases emphasised and brought up to standard.
