Plant Research Centre Molecular Diagnostics Redevelopment

This project involved the demolition and rebuild of an existing laboratory at the Waite Campus, a university and government research facility. Works included the construction of a highly specified and detailed biological containment shell, along with the installation of extensive specialised mechanical services, including an industrial vacuum/dust extraction system and custom de-humidifying ovens. Additionally, the scope required the installation of highly specialised custom robotic equipment, all within a challenging timeframe of eight weeks.

The end result was a successfully certified facility which achieved over and above the specified requirements. On inspection the installation quality was found to be very high and that the facility would be capable of being certified as either a microbiological facility or the higher standard of containment which is required for plant facilities.
